Impossibility is purely a matter of opinion
I live in a typical old English town called Faversham, its near the North Kent coast between Sittingbourne and Whitstable. Here we have lots of old pubs ( 600+ years with exposed beams and open fires ), lots of period houses and a slow winding creek that finds its way to the Swale and then on to the Thames. Every year we have a classic car show, hop festivals, carnivals and a raft-race on the creek.
These days I'm mainly involved with specialised web projects using the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) architecture and a mix of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) techiques, PayPal Integration and SMS Gateways.
If you need help with a web based project, coding or strategy, you can contact me here.
Some of the projects I'm involved in :-
Rare List We have created this site as a resource for people who are interested in Rare Books. We hope that this site will be the preferred internet resource for people who have an interest in antique books or collectable books. On this site, we aim to connect you with others who have a similar passion, and, those businesses that serve the Book Collecting community.
- M2MN Ltd (Many 2 Many Network) This is were we are incubating various projects. This site gives us the perfect environment to experiment, develop and market-test any project large or small.
- NameGen Its always hard to come up with a creative and unique name for your company and web-site, this on-line tool should help a bit. It also checks to see if a domain name exists for each word. Due to the supprising amount of interest I have improved it a bit with faster domain checking, I am also thinking about developing an 'Entrepreneurs' version of this tool. Watch this space.
Katie Sings the Blues Female vocalist and song-writer based in Folkstone, Kent. When you go onto her site you can download samples of her songs, see where she is playing next and view her photo album.
- DynaForms is a web application that enables you to create and test simple questionnaires, invite people by email to fill them in and review the results. This was originally developed for Lloyd's of London but we will make it available to others in a while.
- Anglo Baltic Trading Anglo Baltic Trading promotes business throughout Europe and welcomes new EU members from the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia). Their company supplies products produced in the Baltic States, as well as in other European countries. They can also act as consultants and negotiators between companies. They are situated in the south of England, 50 miles from London and they have representation in Riga, Latvia.
Past projects :-
- ClubChat Interactive messaging system for night clubs.
This allowed people to send text messages from their mobile phones to a large screen.
It featured smooth scrolling text, graphic background, real-time data feed and animated adverts.
It was written in Assembler and Euphoria on MS-DOS.
- Yes Property International On line Estate Agents.
This featured two databases (Vendors & seekers) linked to a web site and mailing list.
It was written in Visual Basic on Windows but later ported to Linux and FreeBSD.
The web site generator creates pages that were naturally "search engine friendly" and was getting about 150,000 page hits per month at no cost to us. The web site was hosted on an Apache web server on Linux.
- Voice Pitch Changer
You would install this between a microphone and speakers.
It alters the pitch or tone of your voice either up or down.
I made a prototype in 1992 for a friends disco unit
- Frictionless Clutch This does what its name implies,
and takes the frictional wear and tear out of clutches.
It uses magnetic induction to achieve a coupling instead of friction.
I tried to patent this a few years back but seriously let down by the company I
used to promote it,
they failed to tell me it had already been invented some years back !
